When I began my career in the wood industry as an apprentice at a sawmill around Wat Sraket. At that time, we still used horse drawn carriages and rickshaw. I remember, teak was one of the country's first exports. As I was trained, I learned more about wood.
I finally realized this business offered great opportunities to individuals who really knew and understood every aspect of wood. So, this began my career as a wood merchant , and because of all the experience I was fortunate enough to quickly gain, I was soon know as the "King of Rosewood" and the first and experience working for a number of companies before joining East Asiatic Co., Ltd. where I served as a quality inspector for wood exports.

Now, it was time for me to start my own business, and I Began by exporting wood to Europe and America. I next decided to expand operations and export Ebony from Laos to Japan and Hong Kong under the name Sitthiphol phanich Ltd., Part (STP)
Then, when the Thai government adopted a policy to ban the export of lumber and encourage local production of finishes wood products for export to provide better income for Thais, I established Aree Aphiluck Sawmill Co,Ltd. on February 6,1980 with the following objective .

To be a comprehensive wood company working in accordance with the government policy to take rough timber and lumber to produce top quality finished wood products for export in order to increase the country's foreign capital earnings. This would also provide work for people living in central Thailand and the other regions by opening sawmills and manufacturing plans for carved posts under the management of Aree Phoosomboon
  • In 1982, the company began to produce quality wood furniture including meeting tables, dinning tables and Japanese tea tables with single boards of what we called "Thai Rosewood ". These pieces quickly gained in popularity and then were awarded for their exquisitely refined look with the "Outstanding Design Award" at the "Happy Home Exhibition" held at Amporn Garden.
  • The following year, the company began producing veneer sliders for export . Meanwhile, they began experimenting with combined wood products like plywood.
  • In order to gain optimum value from raw materials, company began to look at how they could use scrap pieces to produce wall paneling and flooring.
  • Then, in under the sponsorship of the Japanese government and private customers,company sent personnel for training in Japan in the production of finished wood products.
  • In 1984 began to produce Teak, Ebony, Rosewood and Pine veneer products. Meanwhile, in accordance with the company's previously stated objectives to get as much value from raw materials as is possible, the company began producing parquet and mosaic flooring.
  • In 1991, Aree Pattana Sawmill Co., Ltd.(APS) was founded to produce framing and finish wood products for house construction.
  • In 1992 , Areechai woodtech Co., Ltd (AW) was founded to produce Parquet Sanwich for export.
  • In 1993 joined with P&G Paulonia Development Co., Ltd to initiate a reforestation project…Meanwhite, the company invested in property development scheme in The People's Republic of China under the name Hainan Aree Aphiluck Realestate Development Co. (HARD).
  • Finally, in 1995, the company established Dandong Aree Woodware Co., Ltd. To export wood from northern China to Thailand.
Under the leadership of Aree Phoosomboon, chairman,Krongthong Phoosomboon, vice chairman, and the entire board of directors, along with the devoted efforts of all management and staff as well as support from the Government, financial institutions,
associates and customers in Thailand and aboard during the past 25 years. 
In the years ahead, the company will continue to pursue our goals towards further advancement so we can also play an invaluable role in the country's economic development and in improving the standard of living for all.
